Join us in ensuring every third grader in Sonoma County reads proficiently.

Reading proficiently in third grade is critical to a student’s success.

Yet a staggering 59% of third-grade students in Sonoma County are not.

Third graders proficient in reading by the end of third grade are four times more likely to graduate from high school.

Learning to read by third grade marks the transition from learning-to-read, to reading-to-learn.

K-3 Innovation, a local non-profit organization, started the K-3 Proficiency Project (K-3PP) with the sole purpose of collaborating with Sonoma County public schools to ensure each student reaches reading proficiency by the end of third grade.

“This private/public partnership works to ensure all students reach reading proficiency by the end  of third grade.  I invite you to join the growing list of respected community leaders who understand that literacy is a matter we should all be invested in solving."

Dr. Amie Carter, Superintendent of the Sonoma County Office of Education

Here’s what other community leaders have to say:

The Sonoma County Vintners Foundation has designated K-3PP as the major beneficiary of their Fund-A-Need paddle raise at this year’s Sonoma County Wine Celebration on September 21 at Chateau St Jean Winery. Please attend or bid by proxy -- and support
K-3i and our students!
