Join us in ensuring every third grader in Sonoma County reads proficiently. Reading proficiently in third grade is critical to a student’s success.Yet a staggering 59% of third-grade students in Sonoma County are not.Third graders proficient in reading by the end of third grade are four times more likely to graduate from high school. Learning to read by third grade marks the transition from learning-to-read, to reading-to-learn. K-3 Innovation, a local non-profit organization, started the K-3 Proficiency Project (K-3PP) with the sole purpose of collaborating with Sonoma County public schools to ensure each student reaches reading proficiency by the end of third grade.
