What started as a local wine lover’s destination in the 1970’s has now become a nationwide sensation. With our commitment to the farm-to-table movement, we have become a pioneer in sustainable and innovative cuisine that not only complements our variety of wines but creates a memorable experience for our guests.

In 2001, St. Francis Winery & Vineyards opened the doors to its now iconic Sonoma Valley visitor center. We dedicated two acres of our estate to focus on cultivating fresh, seasonal produce and expanding our culinary program to offer multi-course dining.

In 2020, Chef Peter Janiak joined our team and brought his distinguished reputation to our table. He has enhanced our culinary program to elevate these exquisite dining experiences, hosted in our elegant Estate Dining Room or outdoors on our newly covered Vineyard Portico

To ensure the healthiest and best tasting produce possible, we established a “No Spray” farm policy for our property, where crops are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Our talented farmer, James (Jimmy) Hill, collaborates with Chef Janiak daily, planning and planting ahead of each season. Jimmy’s expertise in protecting soil health and biodiversity has introduced insightful planting and water conservation techniques on the farm.

His love for Sonoma County is highlighted in the native produce such as Gravenstein apples, Santa Rosa plums, and Bodega Red potatoes, cultivated in the Culinary Farm at St. Francis Winery, which now distributes to other local fine dining establishments.
