Mark your calendars to join the County of Sonoma’s Climate Action and Resiliency Division for a virtual community town hall meeting on November 1, 2023, hosted by Supervisor Lynda Hopkins and Supervisor Susan Gorin. Climate and Resiliency Master Action Plan: Sonoma County’s Board of Supervisors approved a Strategic Plan in March 2021 to provide the context to inform policies and projects that are prioritized for the next five years. The Strategic Plan identifies Climate Action and Resiliency as one of its five main pillars. These goals and objectives cover a broad range of topics, including energy, wildfire, and grid resilience, greenhouse gas reductions, fleet and building electrification, carbon sequestration, and natural and working land adaptation. The County of Sonoma is preparing a Climate and Resiliency Master Action Plan (Climate & Resilience MAP) to guide implementation of the Climate Action and Resiliency (CAR) Pillar of the County’s Strategic Plan. We are interested in your thoughts and ideas about how best to achieve these goals that affect our whole community. Please join us on November 1 at 6pm to learn more about the steps the County will take over the next few years to meet the goal to be carbon neutral, zero waste, and resilient by 2030. We will be featuring local community efforts and programs. Your attendance and feedback are an important part of creating a plan to achieve these goals. |
