The Starlighter is your date night train!

SMART’s new Starlighter train operates Friday and Saturday nights and is perfect for leisure trips to enjoy dining, entertainment, and evening events.

Take the Starlighter for a date night with an added touch of charm, not to mention breathtaking scenery, as you travel in Marin and Sonoma counties.

San Rafael
Take SMART to Downtown San Rafael where you can dine and catch a live musical performance. Once a month between May and October, the Dining Under the Lights event transforms the downtown into a summer block party complete with an Art Walk.

Petaluma
Take SMART to Downtown Petaluma where you can visit the historic Downtown, dine, listen to live music, and enjoy an evening stroll along the scenic riverfront. Browse the lovely boutiques and antique shops, and visit one of the many wine bars and craft beer taprooms.

Santa Rosa
Take SMART to Downtown Santa Rosa which puts you right in the heart of historic Railroad Square. Browse the boutiques and antique shops, and choose from dozens of nearby restaurants, entertainment, wine bars, and craft beer taprooms.

Trip Planning Information

SMART Fares - Train fare is $1.50 for each zone traveled. Fare for seniors, youth, low-income, and passengers with disabilities is $0.75 per zone traveled. A trip from the Sonoma County Airport Station to the Larkspur station is 5 zones traveled.

Weekend Day Pass - SMART’s Weekend Day Pass is ideal for trips on Saturdays or Sundays. This pass offers unlimited train rides for one weekend day, and costs $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, youth, and persons with disabilities. The weekend pass is available on the SMART eTickets App

Parking - FREE parking is available at the following SMART stations: Sonoma County Airport, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma Downtown, Novato San Marin, Novato Downtown, Novato Hamilton, and Larkspur.
